Business leaders ready to usher in the economic thaw

On the frightfully cold, heavy snow morning of Jan. 7, an intimate group of civic leaders met in the boardroom in J.E. Dunn Construction Company's new headquarters to assess the current state of the region's business affairs and to contemplate what the future holds for the greater Kansas City area.

This general assembly marks the beginning of the 10th year of Ingram's popular Industry Outlook series, with which we have highlighted the progress of such varied business sectors as health care, education, legal, bioscience, banking, commercial real estate, philanthropy, engineering, agribusiness, advertising and marketing, transportation, energy, hospitality, government and more.

Fittingly, this assembly's chair was Terry Dunn, CEO and President of J.E. Dunn Construction Group, who chaired the very first such assembly in January 2001. He was assisted by his brother Steve, the corporation's chairman and treasurer.
